Notes: Shichi is a both a monk and healer, driven by empathy and the desire to learn. Though he is resourceful and skilled in medicine, he is inexperienced in the ways of the world. Altruistic to a fault, he has dedicated himself to helping others — including those that might want to kill him.

Name: Sagiri (早霧)
Race: Tengu
Gender: Female
Occupation: Monk
Notes: One of the highest ranking monks of the Kurohane Temple, Sagiri is both Shichi’s mentor and parental figure. She is stern and disciplined, never accepting anything less than the best from herself and others. Highly skilled with the naginata, Sagiri has a history of combat experience and dedicated training.

 

 

 

chiyo
Name: Chiyo (千世)
Race: Kitsune
Gender: Female
Occupation: Freeloader
Notes: Chiyo is most often seen as a fox, only shifting to her human form when in cities or towns. Though she is centuries old, Chiyo occasionally displays a childlike immaturity and lack of tact. Despite this, her common sense and intuition are quite strong, allowing her to see simple truths that others often overlook.

Name: Aki (秋)
Race: Tengu
Gender: Female
Occupation: Bandit
Notes: Aki is the leader of a small team of bandits. Her remarkable swordsmanship is only heightened by natural speed and agility. She is unbreakable and authoritative, unwilling to let anyone stand between her and what she wants.

Name: Gin (銀)
Race: Nekomata
Gender: Male
Occupation: Vagrant
Notes: Initially a normal housecat, Gin grew into a nekomata with age. Though he gained powers of shapeshifting and great strength, he subsequently lost his owner and his home. Once filled with bitterness, he now finds himself questioning everything he knows about trust and belonging.

Name: Yuu (優)
Race: Tengu
Gender: Female
Occupation: Traveler
Notes: Yuu has had little interaction with other tengu, yet she is innately sociable and nurturing. Though outwardly gentle, she will readily stand her ground when provoked. Raised with a limited view, Yuu longs to explore the world and to experience all of the sights and sounds it has to offer.

Name: Kana (香菜)
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Occupation: Villager
Notes: Kana is an outspoken village girl, showing a genuine curiosity in her surroundings. She is headstrong and independent, yet will occasionally be led astray by her emotions. Kana is naturally kind, readily giving others her time and generosity.

 

 

 

shusei
Name: Shusei (秋生)
Race: Tengu
Gender: Male
Occupation: Monk
Notes: Shusei is Shichi’s childhood friend, having joined the temple at the same time as his companion. He prides himself on his memory, having dedicated his time to the study and preservation of history. Even so, his weak restraint sometimes leads to moments of lazy distraction and bellyaching.

Name: Satake Kokou (佐竹孤高)
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Occupation: Samurai
Notes: Kokou is a samurai, holding a high rank in the village he calls home.  He values family and duty above all else. Passionate and unyielding, he often lets his pride get the better of him.

 

 

 

 

zaisei
Name: Zaisei (寨生)
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Occupation: Hunter
Notes: A vagrant and hunter, Zaisei is always looking for a challenge. He is overly-confident and arrogant, believing himself to be incapable of failure. Any hints of compassion are saved for his only companion, a hunting dog named Bou.

Name: Fumie (史恵)
Race: Rokuro-kubi
Gender: Female
Occupation: Innkeeper
Notes: Manager of the Urameshiya Ryokan, Fumie is a shining example of hospitality. She is fully dedicated to the comfort of her guests, welcoming any yokai that might need shelter. In addition, she runs the restaurant on the first floor, cooking many of its unique dishes herself.

Gender: Kazu – Male | Rinka – Female
Occupation: Bandits
Notes: Born in the same village, Kazu and Rinka grew up (and became bandits) together. Kazu is the quieter of the two, while Rinka tends to be more assertive. Both are utterly loyal to their leader, Aki. Though they try to keep their relationship inconspicuous, it’s quite obvious that the two are deeply in love.
